How does booking work?
Send the inquiry form with your animal’s name and I’ll reply within 24 hours. Signing the agreement or paying the 20% retainer, whichever comes first, holds the date; the balance is due 7 days before the session, paid through the Client Portal.
How long is a session?
Each collection lists its own length, and the shorter ones are shorter on purpose — most dogs give you their best half hour and then they are done pretending to be interested. We stop when they stop, not when the clock says so.
Where do sessions happen?
Outdoors, usually: Fort Funston and Crissy Field for dogs who want room to run, the Presidio when we want shade and quiet. Cats, senior animals, and anyone who travels badly get photographed at home instead, where they already know the rules and nobody has to survive the car.
My dog is nervous with strangers — will that work?
It usually works better than you’d expect, because we don’t start with the camera. The first ten minutes are for sniffing, not shooting: we walk, they investigate, and I stay boring. A dog that has already explored the place settles far faster once the camera comes out, and by then I’m just another thing on the trail.
What should we bring?
The treats they actually want — whatever gets their attention at home is what gets it here, not whatever is supposed to work. Bring a squeaker too if there’s one they love; it works once or twice before the novelty wears off, so I save it for the frame that needs the ears up.
Do they have to stay on the leash?
Wherever the rules say so, yes — and I’d rather that than a story about a dog who ran. It barely shows in the end: I shoot around the leash and edit it out, so the photos look free even where the law says otherwise.
Can you photograph more than one animal?
Yes — mention it in the inquiry, because two animals need more time than one rather than the same time split in half. Bring a second pair of hands if you can: someone holding a leash just outside the frame is what makes the group portrait possible.
When do we see the photographs?
I aim to send a sneak peek within a couple of days, and the full edited gallery arrives within 3–4 weeks — high-resolution files ready to print and share.
