How does booking work?
Send the inquiry form and I’ll reply within 24 hours. A signed contract and a 20% retainer hold the date; the balance is due 7 days before the session, paid through the Client Portal.
Should we shoot before or on graduation day?
Before, if you want the campus quiet and the light chosen. On the day, if you want the ceremony itself. Many families do both — a short campus session in the weeks before, then coverage of the day.
Where on campus do we photograph?
Every campus has the photograph everyone takes — the entrance sign, the quad, the steps at the front — and we’ll get it early, while the light is still soft. Then we go to the buildings you actually used: the library steps you lived on, the lab door you badged through for four years, the bench outside the department where you waited for results. Send me four or five places that meant something and I’ll build the walking route around them, in the order the sun favours.
Do we need a permit to photograph on campus?
Some campuses require one for professional work, and the rules change by school and by season. Tell me where you’re graduating and I’ll confirm it before anything is booked.
How should I wear my regalia?
Cords, stoles and hoods have a right way round, so bring everything you earned and we’ll set it properly before the first frame. A gown straight out of the bag has creases in it — hang it the night before, bring the pins, and I’ll keep the tassel straight between frames.
Can the whole family be in the photographs?
Yes, and they should be. The solo portraits take about twenty minutes; the rest of the session belongs to the parents, grandparents and siblings who travelled to be there. Bring everyone who came into town — group portraits are part of every session, the combinations get sorted on the spot, and those are the frames that get printed, every time.
When do we get the gallery?
Within two weeks, in time for announcement cards and thank-you notes. High-resolution files, plus crops sized to print at any lab.
